Mirova Research Center and the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) officially signed their partnership to support the French Observatory for Renewable Energy and Biodiversity during the Biodiversity & Economy Forum, alongside ADEME.
The three-year partnership aims to advance scientific knowledge on the interactions between renewable energy infrastructure and biodiversity, and to help translate research into practical insights for stakeholders.

The deployment of renewable energy infrastructure is essential to the energy transition. At the same time, it can create pressures on biodiversity and ecosystems. Better understanding these interactions and identifying effective mitigation measures are therefore key to reconciling climate and biodiversity objectives.
The Observatoire des Énergies Renouvelables et de la Biodiversité brings together researchers, public institutions, renewable energy professionals and environmental stakeholders to improve scientific knowledge and support more biodiversity-conscious infrastructure development.
Through this partnership, Mirova Research Center will support scientific research, knowledge synthesis and the development of operational insights that can inform both investment decisions and practices on the ground.
This partnership is made possible through the impact mechanism of Mirova's energy transition strategies, which dedicates specific resources to initiatives complementing the impact generated through investments, including scientific research.
Mirova Research Center will contribute €150,000 per year over three years to support independent research conducted within the framework of the Observatory.
The partnership builds on several years of research supported by Mirova on renewable energy and biodiversity and marks a new step in its ambition to help advance knowledge and practices across the sector.
